Student Course Enrollment Policies and Procedures

Student Enrollment
All students registered for online courses, blended learning courses, and web-enhanced courses will be uploaded to their UCC Online classrooms beginning three (3) days prior to the start of the semester.

Uploads will be performed once daily. Students registering for courses after the daily upload will be added to the course on the next business day. Uploads of full class lists will continue until the day after the last day of registration. Summer Semesters and Winter Session final uploads will be completed on the first business day after final registration. See College Closings below. Students registering after these dates can be added individually to the course list by notifying DE.

College Closings
When the college is closed due to weather, summer hours, holidays, or any other closure, all DE support including student enrollment is not available. Support and enrollment will resume the next business day. The only exception to this policy will be during the Winter Session when student enrollment will be completed during Winter Break. No student or faculty support will be available until school reopens.

Student Access
Instructors will enable student access to their courses four (4) days before classes begin. This policy enables students to see their class listed when they logon eliminating many unnecessary emails and phone calls to DE and the instructor.

Note: The entire course does not have to be available.  Consider:

  • access to syllabus, text requirements, list of resources and materials they will need
  • what to expect in the course
  • welcome announcements, a discussion forum for students to introduce themselves
  • navigation instructions
  • a pre-test, game or other activity to get them started.

Instructors will disable student access to courses two (2) weeks after the last day for grade submission.

“Dummy” Student Accounts are discontinued for use in ANGEL.  Instructors have access to a student view.

If you need any assistance in completing any of the above tasks, please contact the Distance Education Department.  908-497-4364   email: uccOnline@ucc.edu
