Distance Education New Course Approval

There are procedures in place that faculty members need to follow to offer and deliver a new course in a distance learning format.  Those procedures are outlined on the Curriculum Committee web site and on the Academic Technology Committee web site.

Required Training:

ANGEL Learning - Beginning with the Spring 2009 semester, any faculty member who wishes to use a learning management system for online courses, blended learning or enhancement of courses must receive training in the ANGEL Learning Management System.

Basic Training consists of four hours of face-to-face training and an optional design consultation with the Distance Education staff to begin to design courses in ANGEL.

You must take and complete the Basic Training given by the DE staff in order to be certified to use ANGEL in delivering a distance education course.

REMINDER If you sign up for a training, please attend. All trainings have waiting lists of people who want to participate. If you don't show up, you've prevented someone else from attending.

Department Chairs will be notified of all faculty members who have successfully completed the required training. This will assist the Chairs in assigning online/blended learning classes only to those faculty members who are certified.
