  WebCT Training is Now Discontinued

Beginning Spring 2009 WebCT will no longer be used at UCC

The 2008 - 2009 academic year will be one of transition for all faculty teaching Distance Education courses at UCC.  ANGEL Learning is the new Learning Management System (LMS) that will be used exclusively beginning with the Spring 2009 semester.

A small pilot is being conducted during the fall semester with 14 courses using ANGEL LMS.  Most courses will continue to use WebCT during the fall.  Some students will be taking courses using both platforms.

Required Training for Faculty Fall 2008

Faculty who regularly use WebCT for their online or blended learning courses are required to be trained in the use of ANGEL Learning during the fall 2008 semester.  Basic Training will be a four (4) hour face-to-face training in a computer lab, followed by an individual design consultation to move course content from WebCT and begin building a master course in ANGEL.

Faculty members will not be permitted to teach using the ANGEL LMS until they have successfully completed the Basic Training.

Don't be caught without the necessary training for Spring 2009!

In August, email messages were sent out to all current distance education faculty with instructions for registering for the October trainings. Current online instructors have been given the opportunity to sign up first.  Additional messages were sent again in September to all faculty and staff inviting everyone interested to register.
